Gayle's Meaty Baked Ziti

Ingredients

  • 1 package part-skim Ricotta cheese OR -- (15 ounce)
  • 16 ounces low fat cottage cheese
  • 2 eggs -- beaten
  • 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons minced fresh parsley or 2 teaspoon dried
  • 1 package ziti -- cooked and drained
  • 2 jars Ragú Chunky Gardenstyle Pasta Sauce OR -- (40 ounces approximately) any marinara sauce
  • 1 cup shredded Mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 pound ground beef or Italian Sausage -- cooked and crumbled

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. In a large bowl, combine Ricotta cheese, eggs, Parmesan cheese and seasonings.
  3. In another bowl, thoroughly combine cooked pasta and sauce.
  4. Place half the pasta mixture in a 13" × 9" baking dish.
  5. Evenly top with cheese mixture and remaining pasta.
  6. Sprinkle with Mozzarella cheese the last 10- 15 minutes.
  7. Bake 35-40 minutes or until bubbly.
